1. Picking the Perfect Color
Choosing the right piece of art often starts with matching its colors with your room’s décor. You should ask yourself, what are the boldest colors in your room? Focus on things like the color of a wall, of the furniture, of the window coverings, or of the accessories. Pick one or two of those colors and select a BevShot that has these colors in the piece.
Does your room include neutral tones like greys, browns, beiges, and whites? Then it’s important to pick colors that match the warmth or coolness of a room. Going for warm colors? Look for reds, oranges, and yellows. Cool colors? Search for blues, greens, and violets.
To help you decide which BevShot would work ideally for your room, we recommend you print out your favorite image, tape it to the wall, stand back and see how well your BevShot copy coordinates with your room.
2. Picking the Perfect Shape
If you have to cover large amounts of vertical wall space, go with a vertically-oriented piece. If your wall space is longer in the horizontal dimension, choose a horizontally-oriented piece. However, if one piece of art is not big enough to cover a large area of wall, consider putting multiple pieces up. Oftentimes, pieces that have a square shape are ideal for this application. BevShots offer all of these of options.
3. Picking the Perfect Size
Make sure the piece you choose "fits" the space. The bolder the art, the more room it needs to breathe. Art that is too large will overwhelm, while art that is too small gets lost and looks out of proportion.
To help decide what size of art fits best, we recommend putting up a piece of cardboard or some painter’s tape on your wall that is cut to the same size as the piece you are considering. Stand back and see if the size of the piece works with the wall.
4. Picking the Perfect Framing
Framing can alter many things about an art piece, including the size, the feel, and the look. BevShots offers numerous framing options to match your unique taste:
Black Frame With Matting: This option is available for Archival Platinum prints. The print is placed behind a protective glass or Plexiglass, and it is bordered by an acid-free matboard and a black frame made of solid wood. You can choose from two different frame moldings. The Element frame option gives the piece a more traditional feel with clean, straight lines. You can choose to upgrade to the Luxe frame that has a much more dramatic presence because of the increased thickness and depth of the molding. You can also choose between two different matboard colors—white Frost or black Onyx. The Onyx matboard has a silky sheen that provides a unique contrast with the smooth frame, and this combination gives the art piece a distinct, contemporary look; just be careful not to use this Onyx matboard if the BevShot image already has a predominantly black background or it won’t pop as well.
Gallery Wrap Canvas: With this option, a canvas print is stretched and wrapped around the edges of a wooden frame. Since there are no frame moldings or matboards to surround the print, the image carries right up to the wall. Gallery wraps have become very popular in modern décor because of their minimalist feel. Gallery wraps are also used extensively in interior design when multiple pieces are grouped together as a collection. If you have a wall color that closely matches the dominant background color of your BevShot, we recommend choosing one of the other framing options so that your piece has a distinct edge and doesn’t blend into your wall.
Floating Frame Canvas: If you like the look and feel of a canvas print, but you prefer to have a framed border, then this option is for you. A floating frame canvas is basically a stretched canvas that has been mounted within a tall frame and leaves a small gap so that the print looks as though it is floating within the frame. This option provides a striking presence in a room because of the depth of the frame and the large size of the print.
5. Room Shot Examples

In this room, the accessories provide bold colors like red, orange, and green. The BevShots picked for this room key in on these colors, while providing some additional colors that add interest. Three square BevShots help fill the long horizontal wall space above the couch. From screen left, the BevShots shown in this room are gallery wrap canvases of German Pilsener, Australian Pale Lager, and American Lager.

No obvious, bold colors standout in this office, but its overall cool color feel is perfect for a BevShot with blue as the primary color. The square shaped piece fits perfectly in the wall space. The English Pure-Brewed Lager archival print has a white Frost matboard that provides a border between the black frame and the black background of the BevShot.
English Pale Lager works well with the primary colors - orange, white, and black – of this room. To prevent the piece from blending in with the walls, the archival print has a white Onyx matboard and black frame. Although the colors work well together, this is not a perfect example of shape-to-wall matching; a horizontal piece would probably have filled the wall space better than the square shape shown here.
In this modern living room, the BevShot is the primary focal point. Many of the design elements are played down to ensure focus is on the BevShot. Complementing the warm tones of the interior décor and the wide, but short wall space, this Canadian Ice Lager art piece is the perfect match of shape, size and color for this space.
